And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Some years ago, waiting at the dentist's office, there was a 1964 Road and Track, with Cobra evaluation. The ONE thing that stuck with me was 0 to 100 mph in 10 seconds with the 260 small block. In 1964, I was impressed. Tree Mikw
I had a buddy build a Factory Five kit. He had a rebuilt early 90's 5.0 that was punched out to 330 CI that put out 365 HP at the rear tires. It was a serious burnout machine. In the late 90's that kit with a donor 90's Mustang was supposed to cost about $20K. He had $33k in it not counting the Mustang GT donor car. It took him 3 years to build it.
I know a very rich guy who had one. He was wearing shorts the first time he drove it and ended up burning both of his calves when he got out! He only made that mistake once....
Pretty sure that is a kit car, not an original Shelby. Looks like fibreglass. The shelby's are worth way too much to screw around with them like thing has been.
I would commute in that, of course no idea where to put a few hundred pounds of tools. But would have on hand enough to fix anything

ReplyDeleteIIRC, it was claimed the 427 version was capable of 0-100-0 in ten seconds.
DeleteYes, I heard the 0 to 100 and back to 0 in about 10 seconds as well.
DeleteI saw an original 427 for sale many years ago. Sign said: “$450,000. Blindingly fast”.
I’ll bet it was…
Pardon me. I have to go take a cold shower.
ReplyDeletebut all I wanted was a 289!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Well, well. I think also "Oh, My".
ReplyDeleteYeah, I guess I'll take it...
ReplyDeleteIf it has tits or tires....
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't look like a Ford engine.

One sick “under powered” sled. I’d bet this thing breaks traction at 120 mph too on the power shift to the next gear
ReplyDeleteMy '57 big block Chevy would do that shifting 4th. For that matter, my '71 Mustang would do that just by opening the secondaries in high gear (3rd).
DeleteThat's a lot of power in a car that weighs a little over 2300 lbs. Looks like it has an air dam and a wing to try to keep it stuck to the road.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a cow catcher.
DeleteShelby said there is no such thing as too much horsepower just a lack of traction

ReplyDeleteShelby's personal standard was how fast the car will go from zero to 100 and back to zero. After LeMans he learned an awful lot about brakes.........
