And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
need 3 men and a boy to move that thing. Last season OIC overruled me on buying a simple Blackstone gas grill. Now I'm stuck for my duration with a Wally-Whirl "Big Box Special".
Once more: Read the instructions. This is fer American cookery- meat, taters; grease, gravy ; grits, biscuits- fooking outdoor (mostly) food. It's Lodge- contains no chinesium. the shit's heavy-it's castdamiron. If yer tossin' salad or makin' foofoo deserts- use thar other shit they peddle on tv.
I recently acquired a Lodge "pre-seasoned" 10" pan courtesy of my electric cooperative as a thanks for voting in their election. Guess what? I'm still gonna have to season the pan as every stuck to it.
I find that with modern cast iron, the finish on the smooth side simply isn't smooth - it's a rough, as-casted finish that's been partly smoothed. The old Griswold's were finished with abrasives, and are perfectly smooth, like a griddle. So with a new piece of cookware, I get out the jitterbug air sander and some find wet/dry paper and go to work - it doesn't take long. The perfectly smooth, fine finish makes the griddle work as it should, where a very fine layer of oil//grease will put a nice crunch on the food without leaving it dripping.
I bought a smaller one for single person breakfast. Couldn't even cook the black coating off so sitting outside rusting up for ultimate cleanup eventually.
would be great if it worked on an induction stove-top, but it won't.

I have an overly huge one of these that fits on top of a 2 burner outdoor stand. It works well, but hell to clean up after a fajita cook-out.

Deleteagree with aggie, not overly satisfied with mine. needs lots of mods.
DeleteI bought this exact unit a couple of months ago. Used it on the Coleman stove while out on a desert excursion. It was great.
ReplyDeleteHA! Not 5 mins ago I ordered the larger one. Gonna use it on the grill to make some smash burgers.
