  1. Flammable roofing is outlawed here in Colorado, even tho the majority of homes are not affected by forest fires. Pop bottle rockets yes, tree fires not so much. To bad cause anyone can install and maintain a simple roof system like that.

  3. In an earlierf life, I used to haul wood waste used to generate electricity from a cedar sawmill in North Maine.
    There were three cedar shingle machines near the loading ramp that I watched.
    These guys had varying numbers of fingers from one to three on each hand corresponding with how long they had been running the machines.

  4. I remember replacing a cedar shake roof with my brother and dad when I was a young teenager. Hard work physically, but it was do-able and actually a pretty fu family project - a Cape Cod house, fairly uncomplicated.
