Groceries and brewers are trying very hard to go back to cans - they can pack'em in with less wasted space than a bottle six-pack. and of course they're lighter too, so reduced freight handling costs. I'm distressed - beer just doesn't taste the same when you suck it out of an aluminum can, I swear I can immediately tell the difference. Anybody else?
Better option. When my father was a youth in Paterson, NJ he was sent down to the local bar to get his dad's growler filled with brew from the tap. 0 packaging waste there.
Everything is better in glass including food products. Steel, aluminum, plastic all impart off flavorings. A lot of times it’s the acidity that creates the taste, tomato juice, carbonic acid, vinegars, etc.
Back as a young lad in the early 70's when collecting beer cans was a big thing, we used to go through all of the garbage pits of the local farmers looking for "cone tops"
