And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
After but a few moments of thought-primarily of those great meals I've enjoyed out in the bush without a lot of gear- I conclude with a question: Who the fuck conjures shit like this?
You're probably all aware of how tightly a 2" hitch fits into a receiver tube. It fits not very tightly.
I can imagine that grill would bang around pretty good when you're driving down a poorly maintained Forest Service road. "Honey, what's that noise?"
Include the fact that the up and down motion of your rig is amplified on the very ass end and it's not good. That grill looks neat, and that's about it.
I've seen grills like that mounted to the back of RV's and connected to the RV propane supply. I agree that it would bounce itself to death pretty quickly on just road use, much less off-road. I have a grill that size that tucks up nicely in the storage compartment, cooks fine and I don't have to worry about it falling off.
Pretty good idea. After going on the site I kind of view this as more of gimmick though
ReplyDeleteProblem I see is being able to open the rear hatch of that 4Runner with that hitch grill. That sure does save up on trunk space!
ReplyDeleteLook at the top pic: it pivots to one side for that.
DeleteProblem I see is having an open flame a couple of feet from the fill pipe of your gas tank. What could possibly go wrong with that idea?
If the grill dismounts from the carrier, and people do that, no problemo.
Otherwise? Sooner or later, I'll see you in the ER.
e-yep.
DeleteAt least it's shown on a Toyota. I'll take it, filed under Son of FJ.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to try it on my Pinto. But: Why would the advertise it not being used, and in a river where it can't be used?

That will bubble up your paint job real nice.
ReplyDeleteThe cats meow would be to be able to grill while regular driving by reaching thru back window! Fast food.

ReplyDeleteI'm thinking of what would happen in the case of a rear-end collision.
ReplyDeleteMr. Propane bottle is not your friend.
I can see installing it once at camp but you would have to be an idiot to drive around with that thing bouncing around on your hitch. Some people..
