And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

The Golden Arrow, a car that, in the 1920s, got the highest land speed ever recorded at 231 mph.
Could that be Barney Oldfield? I know he had one car called the Golden Submarine that he was using for land speed records, this could have been an earlier attempt. There was also an Englishman at the salt flats back around that era with his own machine. Remember my grandad (an auto mechanic from 1906 onward) talking about them.
