The Golden Arrow, a car that, in the 1920s, got the highest land speed ever recorded at 231 mph.

  2. Could that be Barney Oldfield? I know he had one car called the Golden Submarine that he was using for land speed records, this could have been an earlier attempt. There was also an Englishman at the salt flats back around that era with his own machine. Remember my grandad (an auto mechanic from 1906 onward) talking about them.
