And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

The Captain has a smaller one from this company, and likes it
Can't say anything bad about ReqTeq, but a decent alternative is the Grilla Grills Silverbac AT. Similar features and construction, more robust cart and several hundred cheaper.
Looks like a great smoke, but, I just do not understand the need for WiFi. I mean if you're gonna put some meat on the smoker, nice and slow cooked, I'd just be sitting around with a cold beer or glass a bourbon and a cigar, not running around town or what have you checking my phone to make sure the smoker is doing what smokers are supposed to do. Why does everything need tech? It doesn't, to my mind.
I have the RT-590, there is a pork shoulder on it cooking at 225F as I type. Will wrap it at 165F, take it to 200F then rest it for a couple hours. I love these things. Have had mine going on 3+ years now, use it at least once a month. I threw away a lot of burned up meat before this. Yep, the wifi is nice too. Doing a 16 hour brisket, run to the store, gym, etc...Can always check on temp and adjust when needed.
We have a Reqtech Grill now for 3 years! We use the hell out of it! Its like a tank, not gonna rot away (in less than 2 years) like many of the other grills we have had over the years. The WiFi is a bonus! Picked it up in Augusta GA at the plant where they make them. Got all kinds of goodies free and some at a discount. Its the best!!!

ReplyDeleteI would love to have a real smoker but don't think I would get enough use from it.
ReplyDeleteMade in America...Augusta, GA. Far better than any trash you'll get at home cheapo.

ReplyDeleteI believe I would argue that the pellet grill is the greatest cooking advancement made in decades, mediocre cooks become renowned chefs.
ReplyDeletePlugging up a grill to electric & internet is rediculus.
ReplyDeleteIf it has WiFi, it is a spy. Don't do it!
