And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

My neighbor started to restore The Plainsman about 10 years ago. The roof was a mess and he hired my oldest son to help him. He got the bar part of the building in shape enough to host a birthday party for his wife and we helped serve that evening. His plan was to open the bar and start a revenue stream that would enable him to restore the coffee shop and restaurant. It never panned out and he ended up selling all his property in Navajo County and moving to Bulgaria of all places. I saw him a couple years ago and he’s happy there.
Last I knew, The Rifleman Club Bar in Rawlins, Wyoming was still open, 6 AM to 2 AM, 7 days a week, in the same family since the 60's or thereabouts. Hie thee hence if you get a chance.
