And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
About 40 years ago I had a friend who was given a pinball machine by another friend of his whose parents used to have it in their business. It need repairs. I was able to restore about 98% of its functionality, so we all had a blast playing it in his apartment.
I miss real pinball machines. Playing the fake on a computer is just not nearly as fun as the real thing. I remember paying a nickel a game or six games for a quarter around 55 years ago when I was young.
Yeah. Hours upon hours spent bumping, using 'English' and so on to get those bells ringing and numbers rolling over. Remember that 'knock' when you scored a free game? Should have been studying, but there I was in the dorm, drinking beer....
I had a Gottleib Airport that was a bar machine and had over 200,000 games on it when I got it. We put thousands of games on it and probably that may hours working on it until it finally got to the point of not being worth the time. All those little contacts that had to be replaced and ratchets that wore down. I had installed a switch to eliminate the bells and "thumper" so it could be played while people slept. I do miss that machine now, jack
North end of the Vegas strip there is the Pin Bill ball hall of fame and museum.... rows and rows of playable pin ball games and other arcade games. (http://www.pinballmuseum.org/) Spent a half a day there last trip.
pinball has been making a come back. the picture you posted i believe is in the Silverball Museum in Ne Jersey, but there are dedicated pinball places all over the United States. pinside.com has a map that can help you find pinball near you. you can search by machine (if you want to play a specific one) you can search by numbers.... i.e. you want to find a place with more than 10, 20, 30, 50, 100 etc
