    1. Same with my Winchester model 71 in .348.
Ammo is very rare and when available is in the $9 per trigger pull range.
I need to get off my ass and get serious about reloading.

    2. I have been reloading and casting bullets since 1977. Along about 2008, I helped a widow sell her long deceased husband's motley gun collection. One of the guns that caught my eye was a beautiful Peruvian Mauser in caliber 7.65. At the time I was sorta tempted, but thought yeah, another .30 caliber rifle, another set of dies, and brass and bullets that only fit that rifle. I passed. No, I had to go jump in the deep end of the pool. I bought one of these instead--

It's an interesting thread, and they mention making .43 Spanish brass from .348. Around 2012, I was employed at Huntington's in Oroville, CA, where I bought some Bertram .43 Spanish brass. Even with my employee discount, they were $2.25 apiece.

  2. I've got a Martini-Henry, and I have fired it...about twenty years ago when the ammunition was just five bucks a pop.

  4. They were also made in 303Brit for sportsmen and there was also a scaled-down 22LR version. I really regret not buying a 22LR that was on sale, the balance was perfect.
