  2. Awesome how fast they can descend as well. They just loosen up the claws a bit and slide down like a fireman down the brass pole, shredding and flinging bark all the way. My malamute treed a small black (200-250#) in doug fir and kept him there all night a few years ago. In the morning, I called the pup back and the cub made so much racket dropping from the tree (30 feet in about a second), my malamute took off and treed him again about 50 feet away.
