Man Tool - only exceeded by a double bitted faller's axe

  1. The price on these has skyrocketed in the last two years. Great camp axe, though.

  2. The "sticky" rubber-coated handles make these axes unacceptable for extended wood work. During swing and reset, the leading hand needs to be able to slide freely up and down the handle. Smooth wooden handles are the best. But it is "pretty".

  4. Sorry, CW, but "...only exceeded by a double bitted faller's axe..." is way out there. I have a 4.5# single bit, on a 28" hickory handle that puts that toy to shame, for cutting or splitting. Yeah, I've got one of those, and I like it a lot, but only for specific, limited purposes.
