And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
In 2006, they had spare parts only after 3 failed launches, and had enough in the bank for just a few weeks more. That's how close they were to going broke.
Musk is highly intelligent, and a a superb grifter in a class all his own. My taxes allow the wealthy to buy Teslas, a car I could never afford but still have to pay for. Nice work if you can get it. Nothing against him though. A guy's got to make a living.
Elon Musk will likely go down in history as the biggest con artist to ever live. Tesla has YET to make a dime of profit. The ONLY money it does make comes from selling "credits" to other auto makers used to offset their "carbon footprint"...an EPA scam. As for SpaceX....exactly WHAT USEFUL PRODUCT has it built, made or sold? Nothing...not a damn thing. It exists solely on hype and PR. It MAY eventually turn a profit if the company can keep going AND manage to get supply loads into space at a cheaper rate than NASA....that remains to be seen however. But to date Elon Musk's ONLY tangible success has been selling Elon Musk.
You apparently know next to nothing about SpaceX. It's getting satellites up for 10-20% of the cost of anyone else and is making a profit doing so. NASA can't do shit anymore for launches. Just look at the fucking pig in a poke the SLS is. Three years late and billions over budget, and will likely not launch until next year. It's a white elephant that is 100% throw-away on every launch. Check out the schedule and cost overruns on the Webb space telescope for a real grift.
Wow! I watched TWO rockets land back on earth at the same time, he did that. I see Americans going back into space without having to buy a ticket from the Russians, he did that. Every time I see an electric car (most every day these days), he built that....and I never expected electric cars to go anywhere here in the US... This is WAY beyond making a living and if you think a rocketship landing like they are supposed to is just a con... to each his own I guess.
Congratulating Musk on his rocketry is like congratulating Capone because he kept his neighborhood clean and safe. Amazing what a highly intelligent man can do with other people's money.

ReplyDeleteAmazing story.

ReplyDeleteOther people's money? Where did you read that?
Deletewithout Musk the thought of man in space would had sputter along with Nasa hitch hiking rides from Russia. MUSK is man's future to the stars.
ReplyDeleteIt's still as worthless as Bitcoin and Twitter.
