Recommendations for the next time you are in Fort Bragg, California

                                                          Roundman's Smokehouse.

I remember stopping in here in the 80's, before kids.  Good then, good now.

Bought some super thick cut bacon and cooked it.  Thickest I've ever seen.

The beer is good and so is the food.  Check out this Clam Chowder in a sourdough bowl.

A fun town and not quite so top dollar as Mendocino (yet).

  1. Shucks, I wish I had known about Roundman's Smokehouse. I proposed to my bride of 34 years in Fort Bragg in 1986. It would have been a fun stop.
And the Clam Chowder bowl looks fantastic!
Maybe next time we breeze through Fort Bragg we'll visit these two fine establishments.
Thanks again for making me hungry!

  2. Looked at their website.
Man, I'd go broke in that place in 3 minutes flat.
Be the best money I ever spent.

  3. Funny looking clams. Where I abide we call those "mussels". Stilll.. I am sure that is good chowder.

  4. That's quite a drive from the White Wolf Mine, but it looks great.
