Ospreys are thick in the sky here, and although there's salmon in the river, they're not red like that one

  1. Kokanee in spawn? Seems to have wrong head, but right color.

  2. If you've got property and a pond with fish in it build an Osprey nest platform next to it. It's incredibly easy to do and if you build it they will come.

  3. Here in the Oregon Outback, our raptor population is way down this year. So is the observable rodent population in the fields though. I suppose it's a cyclical thing, but two years ago it seems every power pole had something perched on it; Osprey, Falcons, Eagles (Golden and Bald), Red-Tails, etc. Now, there's only a few Red-Tails, and we still have Great Horned Owls working the night shift.

  4. They’re common as dirt on the Florida Gulf Coast.
