And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
The cars or the cheap gas. The new sports cars are way better in most respects. Gas was cheap recently. We have plenty of supply, but idiot politicians.
I had a 1971 Challenger SE, beautiful car. Hunk of junk. Rattle banging at every corner. Doors, hood, trunk. We all have fond memories of the old days, but the quality of cars has went up. But the memory lives on.
That Challenger, with its tail up in the air, is exactly how I remember cars being while I was in high school. Hell, my 1971 Cuda had the same stance with aluminum slotted mads and n50-15's on the rear and 15-70's on the front.
Sigh... never again in our lives.

ReplyDeleteFast, exciting, dangerous and deadly. But if you lived through it, you'd do it all over again. No question. I miss my '69 Charger sooooo bad.

ReplyDeleteThe cheap gas days... $2 worth of regular was a real thing!
ReplyDelete2 bucks would by 5 gallons when those cars where new. Gas did not get over a buck a gallon till 1976 or so.
ReplyDeleteAt least that is what my tired old brain tells me.
My '70 340 Duster was Da Bomb.
