Low Cost Volume Control

  1. When our son was very young he accidently broke the channel knob off our 19" color TV leaving just the shaft. The plastic shaft receiver in the knob was split and unfixable. So I snapped a small pair of vise grips on the shaft. Used it that was for a couple years til we got a new TV and no, my couldn't stand how it looked.

    1. I remember way back in 4 channel land when the channel selector on our Dumont TV "swept" like on an AM radio rather than "clicking" from one channel to another. The metal shaft had a notch to hold on the plastic tuner knob so if that broke a screwdriver or even a nail-file worked.
