And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Back in the nineties I rafted the Grand Canyon twice in private groups, one of the trips I floated by a ram with a beautiful broom that had fallen from a higher point, He was laying about 8ft above the water on a flat rock that was covered in blood. I thought about grabbing his head but somebody said the Indians that control that part of the river would put me in jail indefinitely if I was caught. What a waste of a great broom. I always thought that sheep never fell but there was the proof. Don't know if it was spooked by a mountain lion or some Indian shot it and didn't bother going down and getting it.
Ibex! We've seen them high in the Swiss Alps early in the morning and late in the afternoon while hiking extremely remotely from civilization.
ReplyDeleteSee, it ain't just humenz that's insane!
ReplyDeleteI got my eye on you.
ReplyDeleteHe's got the right idea.
ReplyDeleteSaw an Alps documentary that had a segment on them and their history. Yes I am a documentary junky as other television generally is worthless.
ReplyDeleteUnlike the silly humans who hang out on the side of mountains the ibex belongs there. Guess which species has more sense?
ReplyDeleteI don't care how good they taste...I ain't going up there to get it....
