The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The Horror! Potatoes that were forgotten about in the back of the pantry.
My oldest daughter is 52 and this was one thing that would instantly cause recoil and screeching. Her sister found great pleasure in chasing her around the kitchen with it!
