  1. There used to be a squadron that flew out of Cherry Point MCAS that had the Bunny logo on their tails....

    1. That was the old VMAQ Squadron! My Dad was a member back in the day....I let the squadrons mascot loose and it ran into the woods behind our house on base. My Dad got a couple of squadron mates to chase that stupid bunny down!!

  2. Something wrong with that picture. That's an F-35B (USMC) but it say's "NAVY" which has the F-35C.

    1. Photoshop. That is not an aircraft carrier it is taking off from....that is an LHD.

    2. You get that the whole point of the F-35B is to be able to take off from LHDs, right?

And that VX-9 is a Navy test and eval squadron charged with making sure that the things they buy actually work?

  3. VX-9 is the test and evaluation squadron for the Navy and Marine Corps.

    1. There used to be VX-4 at NAS Point Mugu (late 80's-early 90's) that had the black bunny F-4. There was also VX-5 in the early 70's that had an A-6.

Is it possible that during The Great Base Closure and Realignment that they combined and became... VX-9?

  4. Markings and paint scheme would look more impressive on an F-14... just say'n...

    1. Yeah, a black outfit would be sexy but heck, an F-14 IS more impressive.

  5. Can't be real. The modern, woke military wouldn't allow such blatant misogyny.

  6. Maybe waiting for the 'woke' shipment of black paint to 'feminize'(emasculate?) that aircraft.

  7. It looks like the hatch is open behind the pilot?

    1. It think that's the air intake for the downward-facing vertical take-off nozzle.

  9. The F-35 Thunderjug will be far more impressive if it ever lives up to 1/2 of the hype, and 1/10th of the cost, for this gold-plated pot of nightsoil with wings.

When it's all over and done, all the services will wish, fondly, that they'd simply resurrected the Douglas A-1 Skyraider, and cranked out thousands and thousands of them, for the same price, 50 times the capability, and 20 times the service longevity and reliability.

The last abortion this embarrassing said EDSEL on the hood.
