And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
It's strange but not strange. Start with X, for Y performance needs and pert near across the board you get the same basic shape. Parallel evolution, so to speak.
Now, the P-47 and the F6F and the F4U all share the same engine. The Corsair was built to use the huge 4-bladed prop that later versions of the P-47 used (thus the need for gull-wings on the Corsair and huge telescoping landing gear on the 'Bolt.) While the F6F and the early P-47 used the same smaller prop. See what I mean about parallel evolution?
Excellent F3F photo.
ReplyDeleteRetractable landing gear, enclosed cockpit. YES!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a P47 with an added top wing.
More of a F4F Wildcat with a top wing.
