Making New York City even more unlivable than it already is

NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio Imposes $1000 Fines for Not Wearing Masks in Public.

It's as if he's purposely doing everything he can to destroy the city he's been elected to lead.

Next he'll be doing like Governor Newsom here in California and banning cars.

  1. How on earth can making people wear a mask be equated with destroying the city? FFS. No one wants to wear a mask but given that large parts of the world are doing the same as it just might help stop the spread of the virus isn't it worth the trifling inconvenience of a bit of paper/fabric on your face to try? This virus is going to be with us for years, possibly for ever more and it will be some time before everyone can be vaccinated/ We still don't know if vaccines will work or last. Doctors, nurses, surgeons, veterinarians, construction workers, paint sprayers and so on have all been wearing masks for extended periods for decades to do their jobs. Why all the fuss about having to wear one for a while whilst you're out in public? Get real. It might save you. It might save someone else. It might not but it's worth a try.

    1. The only difference between this pandemic & the ones in 1957 & 1968 is the publicity and the power it's given to the politicians.

In '68 there were 100k dead in the US (population 200 million) & a million worldwide from the H3N2 virus. The H3N2 virus continues to circulate worldwide as a seasonal influenza A virus.

These epidemics are a basic part of being a human... then again so are politicians taking control over your lives.

    2. We've been living with swine flu, avian flu, h1n1, etc. for years without the need for all this drama. Unless you're in a specific high risk category, it's not going to kill you. But petty dictators and power-mad lefty tyranny will destroy our country if we let it. Fight the power! Live free from fear.

    3. I agree with Rob & Don. Influenza is just Mother Nature's way of culling the human herd. The more human's try to defy Mother Nature's edicts by creating vaccines and medical intervention the closer they come to a complete extinction of the species. You've been out-voted In-My-humble-Opinion, just like the Democrat control-freak bullies like Di Bufoonzo will be next month.

    4. Agreed it might not necessarily kill you but there are many instances around the world of it leaving previously healthy people with severe, life changing ailments.

    7. Anonymous - Life is good, who's on their knees? Not me. I wear a mask because I choose to follow the scientists that favor them. Agreed, many scientists don't. Look around the world, this is going on everywhere. It is a global pandemic. Most countries are taking the same, or similar, approach. Is it likely that all the politicians around the world are in cahoots to try and control the population? Pretty unlikely don't you think? To Son of Reep - I don't think the UK has to wear masks outside yet, do they? And as bogsidebunny, Rob & Don have said influenza is Mother Nature's way of culling the human herd, not doubt about that. (Not this this is influenza but I guess the principle applies). Just a pity those who have to work in close proximity are particularly susceptible, such as factory workers, public service employees e.g doctors and nurses - look at global stats - these sectors have been harder hit. Meat packing industry is a typical example. It will also target those who choose to be in close proximity or refuse to take precautions for whatever reason, who then spread it to all and sundry. Anyway, I have my opinion and I respect the fact that you have yours. We'll just have to agree to disagree. Isn't engaging in debate and hearing other's views how democracy works?

  2. Rob is right, fact of life. So is it true, that the tree of liberty is watered by the blood of patriots and tyrants. Time to start watering!!

  3. Humble keep your opinions to yourself. Law enforcement is not coming to help you, Government claims they will help you and they will. That is why I will not help you, f#$k the dick tators.

  4. It was only a year ago that municipalities were passing "no mask" ordinances as a way to fight back against Antifa. Then "surprise" , make everyone wear masks. I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

  5. Start outlawing cars? NYC has effectively done that, between licensing fees, pollution fees, gas costs, paying for storage, paying for parking, upkeep, new hubcaps every week...

  6. Guess IMHO hasn't heard that tape of the PA governor confessing that the mask mandates are all just political theater...

    1. My point was that as there is no cure as yet, and may never be, surely it is worth a try. Looks like mask wearing in the White House might have been worth a try.

  7. Pandemics and the use of masks has been studied for 100 years! NO USEFUL EFFECT. Virus particles are too small for face filters.

No harmful effect? Damn thing triggers my asthma and eventually a heart arrhythmia if I wear it too long. This is being forced on us for political reasons. You should look up why the Arabs required slaves and females to wear masks. People are pissed. These mask pushing politicians may get a surprise come November. Maybe sooner for some of them.
