  1. It cost much more than money to develop.

  2. Thousands of high precision parts flying in relatively close formation, most of the time.

  5. Hi C.W.,
This whole scene reminds me of a line from the Movie..."The Right Stuff"... "Do You Know what makes these Airplanes FLY??? 'FUNDING!!!!!!!'" I might add.... "LOTS!!..... of Funding!!!"

  6. Things like this make me glad I was a Tweet instead of an Airframer.

  7. That is a really sped up film of it folding itself. When they deploy on ship, they get taken to the hangar bay to be worked on naturally. There are three spots painted on the deck; 2 for the rear wheels and 1 for the front, right under the "high hat" area. They can actually unfold the aircraft the V-22 in that spot. I watched the very first time they did it. All the engineers were sitting there with their calculations detailing out exactly where those spots were to be located and how much room it would have as it unfolded. Guy sitting in the seat actually pressing the button looked like he was going to s*&t himself as he pressed that button! It worked. Engineers were walking around with smug looks on their faces, dude sitting in the seat looked like he had passed a redwood tree!!!
