And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
William Tecumseh Sherman. One bad ass general who knew how to put down a rebellion. We could use a guy like this right now to clean up ANTIFA and BLM. Nothing more then fronts for socialism and communism.
More southern revisionism. Sherman was hell on wheels against some of the best armies the Confederates could send against him. Just because at the end, all they could muster were children and old men... Well, maybe they shouldn't have started the war.
Or maybe the ones who took an oath to support and defend the constitution of the US, but instead decided to start a war against the US - Jefferson Davis, Pierre G. T. Beauregard people like that - should have been hung instead.

ReplyDeleteSherman was hell on wheels against women, children, and old men. In a just world he would have danced at the end of a noose.

The original photo that painting of Sherman was based on was even more intimidating.
ReplyDeleteBig difference though. One is an innocent animal. The other is a war criminal who should have been hanged for his crimes.

DeleteTake that Lincolnites!
DeleteThe Great General's coat hangs in the Library at Villanova
ReplyDeleteWell, after he finished with the 'best armies of the Confederacy', he then turned his barbarism on the women, children, and old men in Sioux villages
ReplyDeleteSo, the Sioux had no young men? Well, Crazy Horse and George Custer might dispute that.

ReplyDeleteDave, that's a good one. He even has the Sherman scowl!
DeleteSherman was pure scum - burn, loot and pillage. Kind of reminds me of todays Antifa/BLM thugs.
ReplyDeleteWell, here we are. Yet another confederate sympathizer still suffering from chapped ass over 150 years after losing a war they themselves started.
