And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Had a neighbor who died because of a racoon. This was after we had moved from that particular cul-de-sac but was related to us by friends. It seems she had managed to capture one in her shed and attempted to pet it. It tore her up pretty bad and being in poor health anyway she later succumbed to her injuries. She was known for her feeding of stray cats, possums, and whatever else was looking for a free meal.
