And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I had an uncle that had a mid 50's Rambler with a big 6 with a supercharger on it. He had it hot rodded with every trick in the books for the 60's. He retired it for a Pontiac LeMans with a 455 big block in the early 70's.
I'm that old. A neighbor had a '50 Ambassador. My high school girlfriend was given an American for her sixteenth birthday. The exhaust manifold looked like a piece of conduit clamped to the block. Someone once wrote into Tom McCahill at Mechanix Illustrated and said that he had a Rambler American which would do 100mph, strictly stock. McCahill said, "I think you have a hell of a long hill". My life was filled with Nashes Studebakers, Crosleys and the occasional Hudson. It was the times.
I remember !!
