Who remembers Nash these days?

  1. I had an uncle that had a mid 50's Rambler with a big 6 with a supercharger on it. He had it hot rodded with every trick in the books for the 60's. He retired it for a Pontiac LeMans with a 455 big block in the early 70's.

  2. I'm that old. A neighbor had a '50 Ambassador. My high school girlfriend was given an American for her sixteenth birthday. The exhaust manifold looked like a piece of conduit clamped to the block.
Someone once wrote into Tom McCahill at Mechanix Illustrated and said that he had a Rambler American which would do 100mph, strictly stock. McCahill said, "I think you have a hell of a long hill".
My life was filled with Nashes Studebakers, Crosleys and the occasional Hudson. It was the times.
