  1. They can't be chucking it overboard can they?
Why else would it be facing that way?

  2. A-5 Vigilante, supersonic nuke bomber and recon. Looks like a parking accident. Interesting, I see it had tanks and the nuke bomb bay between the engines that came out like a gun shot reward. Never used for anything but fuel in practice and was generally a recon/camera plane.

  3. Oh shit, Chief's gonna chew some ass, for sure! If they were tossing it, which we don't really do at sea, it would be off the fantail behind the ship. That guy would have eventually gone to a boneyard to be broken up.

  4. Looks like pilot and crew are going to ride out the recovery. Tail hook is up so I'm thinking parking lot accident as well.

  5. Looks like brake-riders in the cockpit with the yellow mickey-mouse hearing protectors. Probably a brake failure before it could be chained down. Notice the wing tips are also folded. It was disconcerting to tow as the nose extended out over the tractor driver. When you started a left turn the nose initially swung to the right in relation to the driver. The first time that happened to me I about crapped myself thinking the tow bar had come loose.

  6. A-5 was another beautiful almost useless plane.

    1. It was a good supersonic recon plane for the fleet.
