And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Looks like an F-101 Voodoo (MacDac) which was a twin engine T tail fighter. You can see the engine pods along the sides of the fuselage. The F-100 was the single engine super sabre and the fuselage was a lot more cylindrical.
More details in the comments of this video. Looks like the pilot made it out OK... ejected, landed in a lake, nearly succumbed to exposure before rescue.
Back in 83' I flew down to the Kenai Pennisula to salmon fish with my brother, I got a kick out of the airstrip, when planes eat it when landing they just left the wreckage sitting off the side of the runway. There were 4 or 5 wrecks. It had an amazing way of focusing your attention to your own landing. PS: Don't bother fishing the Russian River, it is like fishing on a Los Angeles freeway at rush hour. people fishing 6-8ft apart both sides of that skinny little river up and down river as far as you could see. It sucked. Kenai River was great.
I think it was the F-101 that was called the Voodoo.
