  1. They had to have felt something before the quake, maybe early very mild shocks/vibration? If it there it can be found and could be a way to predict a quake.

  2. It is not uncommon for animals to exhibit disturbed behavior before an earthquake. Unfortunately, not enough time before to be of use for more than the individual(s) with them at the moment.

    1. They are reacting to something, if we could figure out what that is we have something to backtrack. Admittedly the animals don't react much (time wise) before the event but in tracking it back we may find something that we can use.
      I'm sure this is not a new thought...
