And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I was flying along the coast of Florida near Tyndall AFB in Panama City back in the late 70's when a flight of 106's took off about a mile north of my position and climbed rapidly out of sight.....damn showoffs....I was in a 172....I always thought that was something that a plane from the 50's stayed in service as a front line fighter for so long....last of the century series....I wonder if that photo is at Eglin AFB....
2, 4, and 6; is that a Nikie Ajax? From the angle of the photo, one must have to have been a contortionist to get into the 106.

ReplyDeleteThese were the point of the spear for our air defense against bombers in the 60's and 70's. Thank God, we never had to use them.
