Better than nothing

  1. N95 masks are 99.9% efficient, while OSHA Category 3 masks like the one shown are 98%. Definitely better than nothing.

Works even better if you glue it to your face so air cannot leak around the edges:

  2. When I first looked delivery was sometime in May, now they are unavailable.
I guess I need to make myself a mask or find a bandana, I figure if everyone wore one we'd slow down the virus because the people who had it and didn't know would be (somewhat) limiting their spread.

  3. This mask may, and I emphasize, may provide 98% protection from particulates in some settings. The work horse of the medical profession, however, is the N95 mask. It is a common construction industry mask, too.

An N95 masks provides a seal round the nose and mouth if worn properly. The one shown in the photo does not. It appears to be one very similar to the common surgical mask. Surgical masks are constructed of material that is much thinner than that used to construct N95 mask and surgical masks provide far less protection than that provided by N95 masks.
