    1. Some might say the OV-10 Bronco is a bit funny-looking, but I have a cousin who flew one in Korea and thinks they're beautiful.

    3. Ugly? Not really. But there might have been one or two lovingly best described as cute.

    4. The Osprey.
Perfect summation of this generation, it doesn't even know what the fuck it is... is it a plane or copter? Fixed wing (not really?) Verticle or runway takeoff?
Xe, Xer, or Xim? How should I refer to the aforementioned abomination?

  2. i liked their proposal for an air force long range interceptor version that had three J-75 turbojets in it. it would have been awesome sounding on takeoff if nothing else

    1. Yes, I'm aware of that too, and it would have been AWESOME!

  3. My old neighbor was a Vigilante driver. An interesting bird, and so were his stories.

  6. We had one come to NAS KeyWest back in the late '60's while I was stationed there. It was a photgraphic plane. I was with the CDO in the OPs building when it flew over at night and lit up the entire area taking flash pictures. We got a phone call from a Monroe County Sheriff's officer saying one of our planes was on fire.
A couple days later I was standing behind it at about 1/4 mile when it lit the after burners and took off. It took me off my feet.
