And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Tesla Energy Crisis - reminds me of the gas lines during the 70's
Thanksgiving 2019 at the San Luis Obispo, Ca., Supercharger Station. 15+ Teslas waiting to recharge at 4:45pm Thanksgiving Day. 0-60 in half a second, and then four hours of waiting in line to recharge. Should have bought a Dodge.
That's the problem with the Tesla. I think that they're nice cars, but they have short legs and the recharge is cool if you're doing it overnight - not if you're on a trip.
You can't hear 'em coming, it's weird to see one moving and tire scrape is the only sound. Hi-end rides need to make a serious exhaust note...Top Gear BBC (the original!) makes this point in spades. No sound is uncool.
In the gas lines of the 70s, there may or may not have been gas available when you got to the head of the line. Saving PG&E cutting off the power, Tesla drivers don't have that fear. I still dislike Carter.
a MEP-250 power plant and some cables with a tank car of diesel behind it. spew some smoke when another T-car plugs just to let them know where their electricity is coming from. Three people I know own T-cars. all three do not espouse "climate change hysteria" and have told me they bought into them for:1.the looks and styling, 2.performance. having ridden in one in city and highway traffic, it is true it is a quiet ride by itself. sadly, one can hear everyone else's automobile and all the road noise. by the way, the am radio sucks.
I have commented many times on the impracicality of EV's from a technical perspective. Drive it 4 or 5 hours and sit around with your thumb up your ass for the 4 hours it takes to recharge. Great for shopping or short range daily commutes, but they suck at long distance travel. I even bashed these 29th century pet rocks because without upgrading the power grid and generating capacity, they will be nothing more than a fad.
It never dawned on me that the charging infrastructure would be a sticking point. To take a cross country trip would be impossible without spending untold billions on charging stations. Even if enough charging stations were built, the time it would take for all of the charging would make such a trip, you might as well take a covered wagon!
