And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Even more remarkable that the F-86 is North American Aircraft’s record of significant aircraft. B-25, Mustang, B-70 Valkyrie, BOne and Space Shuttle to name a few. Their version of a Skunk Works just lacked like PR. In ‘53 or so, a simple balsawood F-86 was my first model airplane. The love affair endures. Lucked out attending an airshow at Andrews AFB where an F-86 and MiG-17 performed a mock dogfight. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yV0Yh92xUlc Same show or the one after, a P-51 performed. 12-cyl. Merlin is a joy to hear. And yes, Mustangs leak like a sieve. When I fire up my PC, I swapped out factory startup sound with 6-8 seconds of a RR Merlin startup.
