And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Buster Keaton was actually supposed to make that jump successfully - but when he didn't they improvised on it and created the famous falling-through-the awnings sequence (falls through the multiple awnings, grabs the drainpipe that bends over, launches him through a window sliding across the floor into a firehouse pole, slides down the pole and lands on a fire engine bumper just as it speeds out of the firehouse). Guy was talented - and tough.
Nobody should be that ambitious on a Monday.
