And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I'm thinking that the revolver is probably chambered in .38 S&W by the looks of it. The ammo is still available for those old wheel guns. It's kind of an anemic little brother to a .38 Special that's shorter and just a smidge fatter.........
The lock up on those things caused problems when they would become a bit worn and the gun would pop open whenever you would fire it. The Smith & Wessons were pretty robust for the type. Some of the other manufacturers were more like Saturday night specials. I have a nice little nickel plated Hopkins & Allen in .32 S&W that's in about 85% condition. I rescued it from a friend who was going to take it to a buy back and get $50 for it. I hated the thought of it getting destroyed for no good purpose........
They go together like peas and carrots.

Deletehe trigger looks as if it pivots upward and back, given the pin I see.
DeleteThe underlug is sort of modern S&W-like. Among others.
I had to delete my previous comment to add an "n" to the word "give". Just trying to keep my spelling relatively intact.
Finding ammo for that pistol might be a bit challenging.

DeleteA .38 S&W? I was thinking 32 NAA or 32 Short Colt. They are all a bit anemic.
DeleteWhat is the pistole? Trigger kinda triggers me.
ReplyDeleteAppears to me being a S&W break top. Very similar to this one in the link.
