    2. That was just shortly after they met, in Bacall's first movie "To Have and Have Not" - Ernest Hemmingway's work. They were indeed smitten with each other on the set. She was only 19, he 45, and they were together until his death a dozen years later. Back in the days when public figures were still people.

  2. Its funny, way back in the day that Hollywood actors (not actresses) had faces that were rather ordinary, some even a bit plain. The face you see everywhere you go in public. The actresses (then and now) were usually rather pretty. Lauren Bacall was a pretty woman and that husky voice - a hoochie mama ! :^)

  4. A team of oxen could not drag me away from her if she ever gave me that look.

  5. Man, even *I* could understand her message there, and I'm generally clueless about these things!

  6. Old Hollywood featured women who acted like women, and men who acted like men. What a refreshing thing.

    1. Speaking of which, "Ford v Ferrari" see it! Men being men.
And "The Punisher" in a business suit.

  7. Class act...

Woman are the gatekeepers, keeps us men in check. Sorely missing in society nowadays.
