And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Worth their weight in gold! I once lost a 1/4" bolt on an engine driven trailer mounted compressor while assembling the cabinet. It slipped out of my paws while I was working directly over the open engine intake manifold. My dad handed me a telescoping magnetic pickup, and said "I do not care how long it takes, but I want to see paint on the bolt-head match the cabinet color!"
It took an hour or two with the pickup tool, an inspection mirror and a flashlight but I found it!
Another aid to prevent dropping small parts is to ditch your gloves. I find that I am nowhere near as deft with the gloves on. As for not being able to find a tool when you need it, I have become anal about tool organization. I use modular socket and accessory trays, wrench racks, drawer dividers, etc. Now that I am no longer working due to a disibility, my workshed is filled with every tool known to man including a vibration spectrum analyzer, LASER shaft alignment kit.
Now that I am sitting on a collection of iron that could outfit a mechanical services company, I putter around doing small jobs for neighbors and the odd fabrication job. As I got older, I did not want to spend more finding the tool than fixing a leaky faucit for the neighbor lady.
