Ok, ok, Mondays are like that

  1. In the '80s I worked in Oakland for US Lines, operator at that time of the world's largest container ships.

My girlfriend Annie was an intern at the Marine Terminal fresh outta Maine Maritime Academy. I remember visiting her one night on my way home to see a ship right outside the window of her office with dozens of containers which had been ripped open like a can opener as the result of storms upon the ocean.

  2. Ahhh! the sea. and the women who go down into it

  3. Recommended reading: "The Box". Subtitled 'How the shipping container made the world smaller'. It's a great read of the genesis of what has become our current international trade world.
