And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I've taken the "small" car ferry from Mallaig on the mainland to the south end of Skye a couple of times and they load from the side. The first time I drove my rental car on I was a little nervous, but the solid steel plank is pretty secure. Years ago on the north end of Skye they used a converted Landing Craft Utility (LCU) ferry from the island to the main land. It could carry about 15 vehicles. Sadly they built a bridge span in the 1980's.

ReplyDeleteI don't know where that is. I couldn't make out the language. From the color of the ferry, I'd say Greece, but the language doesn't mesh.
