And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Definitely not my color favorite, but the cream Corvette is my choice to 'get in and drive'. Afterall I'll have to give it back after I put 'er through 'er paces.
The vettes are 59 or 60. 58s had fake louver panel in the hood. Route 66 TV show used 61 or 62 model. By the way all C-1, C-2 vettes used 15 " rims. Bubbarust
Those early C-1 cars were always my favorite Corvettes period being the 62 being the one I would buy if I was eve to hit the lottery. I road in one pulling a small trailer and a Harley Sportster in 66 from Huntsville, Alabama to Connecticut. Beat the living crap out of me but damn it was cool.Never have forgot about that trip. Great times for a 20 year old Army guy for sure!
The straight 6 was far from a "hotrod", tho' it had a multi-carb intake. Only available on 53,54 and early 55 being replaced by the 265 cu. In. V-8 mid-year. Top engine available was the two four, solid lifter, high lift cam. That was a pretty good " hotrod"! Bubbarust
Either one of the Vette's, but first I'd have to get rid of those hideous oversized rims and tires and put the original wheels back on. OMG the suspension is tuned for the old 14 inch rims and bias ply tires - the oversized rims and rubber band tires will turn the ride into a kidney punishing nightmare. And it looks stupid to boot. Sorry, not a purist, but totally against the stupid wheel look.
Well, currently the spring weather is fantastic, so either the Corvette or Maserati convertible.

ReplyDeleteThe vintage Maserati, but not if I had to pay the insurance!

ReplyDeleteIf you don't drive like a raving maniac, I'd like to go for a ride with you.

ReplyDeleteSame. I'm not a purist so looks are what eventually sways me with and #1 looks good, really good.
DeleteI think that the first Vett is a 1958. It's the one that they rode in on the TV show, "Route 66."

Sorry to be picky, but I'd like to look under the hood first.
