And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Worked on the Genie the first 5 year I was in the AF. Thirty five thousand pound thrust rocket engine (for 5 seconds) and a 900 pound rocket. Quick as hell but the pilots ended up way too close to a nuke blast. Amazingly accurate for its day. EdC
Imagine stuffing in the highest thrust modern engine it one. Believe that bird could take it and make it too. Had all the right flight characteristics.
Worked with the F-106 drivers at Minot and Castle AFBs. Great guys, loved their planes, but were VERY happy when the Genie was withdrawn from service.
