  4. Son: "Dad, why can't we watch a Dallas Cowboys Superbowl game?"
Dad: "Because we don't have a VCR."

  5. 15 years no TV now, don't miss any of it. Got a plasma 12 volt DC, no smart TV, air gapped from everything but the 12vdc fork truck battery the solar panels charge, only got for for watching occasional CD's, and maybe a few tines a year we watch vintage, like J Wayne or Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns,

  6. I have a room full of laserdiscs and player. But it won’t work with my current TV. VCR players were crazy expensive when they first came out. My brother in law spent over a thousand dollars (late 1970s dollars) on a betamax.

  8. Reminds me of this classic John Prine song.

    "Blow up your TV
    Throw away your paper
    Go to the country
    Build you a home
    Plant a little garden
    Eat a lot of peaches
Try an' find Jesus on your own"
