Nice workbench. Bet that guy built it himself.

  4. A reasonable effort. Want to make it an A++? Same bench exactly, but lay hardwood flooring on the top - oak works, but this small you can use an exotic, too. Refinishable, and it can live in the dining room as well as the shop. I've built 9 or 10 that way. Do a good job with the base cabinets and you've got an heirloom.

    1. Yes, I can envision "hardwood" laid out across the top. Carpet would also work in dire circumstances...

  5. My bench is made from very old bowling alley lanes that I bowled on many times. Got a couple of lanes before they took the rest to the dump.

    1. I got about 200 square feet of rock maple flooring from a bowling alley that was torn down in Indianapolis but it was only about 1-1/2" thick and required extensive milling to get to useable shape.
