And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Hey, Elmo. I talked to that guy I posted the other day, and he still has that McCulloch chainsaw, and that it still runs perfectly fine. He also mentioned that in the old days, it was understood that to apply for a job as a faller with Pickering, you had to prove you had a saw with at least a 50 inch bar. That's some serious working tools!
CW- I think I figured it out, with the help of eBay and a firewood blog.
I think it might be a McCulloch Super Pro 125. It's a 123cc saw. I found a post by a guy that rebuilt one. It had a 50" Cannon Superbar. The guy also said "This model of saw is one of the most sought after Vintage American Chainsaws on the market". Some parts, including brand new dogs, are available on eBay.
I had a 68 Dodge Charger in High School. White with a black top. Every time I see a picture like this I wish I could have afforded to keep it when I went to college (transmission went out)
Love the color but not sure i would have put it on that car…
ReplyDeleteI remember it in yellow with black stripes
ReplyDeleteI rode in a red 67 charger.
ReplyDeleteCandy Apple Red?
ReplyDeleteLooks more like Fire Engine Red to me. But what do I know. I'm color blind.
DeleteRegardless, it sure looks great on that fine machine.

DeleteDid he happen to mention the model number of that saw? It's driving me crazy trying to remember what McCullochs the fallers used back then.
DeleteIt's funny. I can't remember the model number but I can hear the sound of those big saws in my mind like it was yesterday.

FYI: A Stihl 088 is 122cc. A Stihl 090 is 137cc. So yeah, that Mac Super Pro 125 is a BIG saw.
DeleteMy first car, a green 68 charger.
