And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? What was it Yogi Bera said about Everest? "Nobody goes there any more; it's too crowded." When the journey is so simplified that anyone can do it, it's not really worth doing.
A more interesting climb, and much more challenging, would be the beautiful Makalu, 5th highest, about 20km SE of Everest, also on the Nepal-PRC border. Its summit is a point. No overcrowding on Makalu, but riskier than Everest. Supplemental oxygen required there too.
