And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Reminds me of Val Thorens in January 2004: three days of -23° C (that's about -10° F for Americans), but because of the wind you felt way colder. Not a very nice skiing holiday...
Ridding up the Killington Peak chair the day after the blizzard of 78 finally stopped snowing, I observed someone coming down the trail under the lift. He fell after probably crossing tips in crotch deep powder and disappeared under the snow. He was able to sit up and said he was OK when we asked as we passed over him. Before he reappeared after falling, there was almost no way to tell there was a person under the snow. It was still heavily overcast after the storm and the light was very flat revealing few details in a uniformly white snow scape. Best ski week ever.
Amazing no fog up goggles.
