And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Can blame the ticket agencies with their bots scooping up tix and reselling them. Kid Rock had himself an Oval Office visit and Trump signed an order setting these scalpers straight. I hear ya on the prices!
I assume the Tennessee Three would be Mr. Rockabilly Carl Perkins from my home town of Jackson , Tennessee. Most humble and nicest man you would ever know. Rock On Mr. Blue Suede Shoes!
Back in the Early 1960s, the lesser country stars toured together. Every Friday night, we had the WJQS Country Shindig in Jackson, MS. You'd have a star like Webb Pierce headlining with 10 other up and coming performers, like Waylon or Willie.
1965 is when these package shows toured the country.
ReplyDelete$1.50 - $3.00 per ticket?
ReplyDeleteAbout $10 today. That's a deal!
DeleteI've seen Johnny Cash twice, once with June. They put on a real good show.
$3 in 1965 dollars turns into $30.24 in 2025 dollars.
DeleteConcert tickets today are in the hundreds and I'm likely to never attend again.
