And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Me thinks human's were far more highly advanced, going back considerably farther, than those who "write" present history says. "Something", happened to knock us back a number of times, its cyclic, there if you look for it, how our history has circular features to it. Funny how that seems to happen.
Persia had a great culture, then Islam showed up and f*ed it up. Before the Shah was deposed, all the good ones moved to Europe or the US. Had two in my MBA class at Bama, 1974-76. Shrewd traders, brought Mercedes here, no tariffs. Sold after here,, made $5K each. Bought Camaros and drove each for a year. No tariffs back home due to that. $5K for a Camaro, sold those back home for $30K. Tariffs were $25K/car if they didn't hold those for a year.

ReplyDeleteHere is a larger photo. It shows the other arm and paw of the lion over the back of the bull (not a horse).
