  1. Gotta wonder what inspired that type of depiction. Interesting? Yes. Beautiful? Maybe 'in the eye of the beholder' of the era.

    1. Maybe to memorialize that time a lion attacked the King's prized stallion.

    2. The lion has to look as mighty or grotesque as his fierceness.

  2. Me thinks human's were far more highly advanced, going back considerably farther, than those who "write" present history says. "Something", happened to knock us back a number of times, its cyclic, there if you look for it, how our history has circular features to it. Funny how that seems to happen.

    1. Here is a larger photo. It shows the other arm and paw of the lion over the back of the bull (not a horse).

  4. Persia had a great culture, then Islam showed up and f*ed it up. Before the Shah was deposed, all the good ones moved to Europe or the US. Had two in my MBA class at Bama, 1974-76. Shrewd traders, brought Mercedes here, no tariffs. Sold after here,, made $5K each. Bought Camaros and drove each for a year. No tariffs back home due to that. $5K for a Camaro, sold those back home for $30K. Tariffs were $25K/car if they didn't hold those for a year.
