And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Basic truck. They all were in that era, with some variation in capability. When did the scene change, you think? Safety features, entertainment, etc., or was the market just that different then?
It changed when people started cosplaying as cowboys and construction workers. Today people buy trucks to pose as something they are not when in reality they use those trucks to drive kids to school and soccer games. Trucks today are overpriced, bloated barges, loaded with luxury features
The first and last brand new vehicle I will ever own was a 1991 Chevy S10, bought in Oct 1990, for $8,888 and I still own it today and it has about 168k miles on it. Standard cab, 2 wheel drive, 2.8 V6, 5 speed manual trans., robins egg blue, and routinely gets 20 mpg. Probably the best purchase I have ever made.
I have a military buddy that bought an 85 after he had been in the service for a year. It was a basic 4x4 manual that had AC. He rebuilt the inline 6 right before he retired. He still has it where he pulls it out when he needs a truck.
I kept checking in several times today and I kept seeing the Orange Jeep truck and nothing new. I was worried... but now it's for naught. Thank you for coming back and posting so many more really great photo images. Especially that darling red head!!!

my first vehicle was a red 1978 jeep truck, paid $5700 back then, was right out of high school
ReplyDeleteI certainly long for the days when we could purchase a pickup truck for under $10,000.
